Tangarine were the first to play a session on the Sunday of our Into The Great Wide Open show. Twin brothers Sander and Arnout Brinks are known for their delicate folk songs, although their new record shows them playing with more power and dynamics than before.

I remember seeing them for the first time in 2010, during the final of the Grote Prijs van Nederland, a Dutch music competition. It would’ve been nice if either they or Case Mayfield had won that year, instead of the awful singer who did. Shit happens. Since then, Tangarine have undeniably become a lot better and released two albums, of which this year’s Seek & Sigh on Excelsior Recordings. They’re doing well.

They did well at Vlieland too, by covering Hank Williams and Tim Hardin.
